Hidden within the heart of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Botanic Garden is more than just a collection of plants — it's a microcosm of the region's wild, untouched beauty.
Nature trail adventure: Walking along the well-marked trails through dense tropical forest felt like a real jungle trek. The sounds of birds and insects, the shade of towering trees, and the occasional stream crossing made it immersive.
Gio Waterfall: One of the highlights! The waterfall is small but picturesque and offers a refreshing break. Some visitors even take a dip in the natural pool.
Vang Anh Lake: Where you can immerse yourself in the cold water.
Wildlife & flora: Along the route, I spotted native orchids, giant ferns, butterflies, and even a few monkeys in the distance. There are also rescued animals in semi-wild enclosures (like snakes and porcupines).
Viewpoints: There are a few spots with panoramic views over the forest — perfect for resting and taking photos.
Eco-tourism at its best: It’s educational and environmentally respectful. You get a real feel for Phong Nha’s biodiversity.
Peaceful escape: Compared to the more touristic caves, the garden is quieter and feels more personal.
Easy to moderate hike: The main loop takes 1–2 hours depending on your pace and stops, suitable for most fitness levels.
Wear good hiking shoes with good grip — some areas are rocky or slippery, especially after rain.
Bring water, bug spray, and a camera.
